Where can I search for/get Android APK files?

Q. I need a good site for downloading good, trusted, and recent android apk files. If anyone knows of such a site that is FREE please let me know and thank you kindly in advance.

A. These normally will come from the Android Market. However if you're on a device that doesn't have the official Android Market you might try AppBrain.com

Will Android Apk Installed By Own Get Update?
Q. Example i have an apk file. Then i installed. Will it get update from google play?

A. if it's a product if google play that you have downloaded from external source will still get updates

( in case you downloaded from torrent,it will ask for update but don't update that software because it will lock :p)

Can you update apk files with an app from the android market?
Q. When I download apk files such as apps they regularly get updated so it is a hassle to keep uninstalling and reinstalling them so I was wondering if there is an easier way to update them? Thanks.

A. I am pretty sure you can't. You will have to use an appstore such as the Amazon AppStore or the Marketplace.

Is there a way to get the Android Market to recognize downloaded android files (apk files)?

Q. I installed an app onto my phone from the sd card but I did not buy it from the android marketplace. I want to update it but since I didn't buy it from the android market, I still get the "buy" option rather than an update option. Is there any way to get the android market to recognize that I have the app installed so that I can update it?

A. no... Market only updates apps "bought" on the android market...

3rd party apps wont show on Martet download lists since you didnt get it from Google... you will have to update it from the 3rd party.... If they posted the app, then naturally they have the update too (like Applanet.net does)

you could try Appbrain from the market.. i dont think it will work though...

you could try Applanet... www.Applanet.com... never buy an app again

What is a good Android apk installer?
Q. I want an installer that installs the apps onto the sd card instead of the internal memory. if someone can link me or tell me what the app is that would be great.
It is a SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro. It doesn't have the option to move to sd card. Also regarding App2SD don't you need to root your phone to use it? i do not want to root my phone.

A. depending on what android phone you have, if you go to settings > applications when you click on one of your apps you have an option to install it on your SD from the phone.

ALTERNATIVELY the app you would need is called App2SD and can be found in the Android Market

How can I install the apps to the sd card from the android market or from a .apk file?
Q. I have a vodafone 845 mobile phone.
When I install something it automatically installs it to the phone's memory.
How can I change it to install it to the sd card?

A. If the app allows Move2SD, you have an option to move that app in "Manage Apps"

If the app wants to install by default to SD (which means PART of it goes to SD, it will do so by itself.

Root and "default to SD" actually forces apps to SD whether they want to or not, which can break apps, break widgets, and more. It sounds cool, but it doesn't help... much.

How to install APK files on Android?
Q. I want to download apps that isn't available in my country so the only way to download them is in APK files. The question is, how to install those files? Any ideas?

A. First of all, you'll need an sd card then put it in your phone. Then connect your phone to your computer via usb. When your computer installs your phone's usb, you'll get a notification then click on that notification. When you click on that notification there will be only one button on the screen it will say connect usb or something, click on it. Then go to www.mobile9.com and type in your device name then type in the game you want to download and choose the game and download it. Then transfer the file into your phone's sd card. Then go to my files in your phone after the game is in your phone and after you take out the usb cable. After you click the my files then scroll down and find the game then choose it and click install. And youre done. Enjoy!
